Frank Benko Instruments
Frank Benko Classical Guitar Used
Wow. A piece of Toronto history. A very wonderful handmade classical guitar, likely 1960s, from east-end luthier Frank Benko. Frank operated from a space in the Kingston Road/Victoria Park area in the 50s-70s. This instrument has a solid spruce top, gorgeous rosewood back and sides and ornate and meticulous inlay and purfling throughout. Finished with nitrocellulose which has aged wonderfully with subtle checking throughout.
Cleaned and restrung at Cask, with fantastic action and a very rich tone. No structural or other playability concerns. Minimal wear for its age, with some scuffing on the back edges and some more visible lacquer checking near to the neck heel.
Includes hardshell case.
