1960s Hofner Mandolin Used

Lovely instrument. This is a flat back teardrop/A-style mandolin. The 1963 Hofner catalogue shows this line of mandolins and it appears to be a 587, which has a select spruce top and rosewood back and sides. Ornate appointments including double-bound body, bound neck, fine inlayed 'pickguard' and hand-carved ornamented headstock. This has been refurbishd and set up and sounds fantastic with comfortable action. Hardware is all original. There is one 'petal' missing from the body inlay, and the top is warped in the same area (see pictures) the warp does not affect the action nor the structural integrity. Very, very nice!
